Me...I am Rich....No I don’t have cash....It’s my name...Rich Erikson, I am 35, I live in Crystal Lake Illinois, a suburb of Chicago. I have been flying Radio Controlled Helicopters off and on for about 20 years(I just scared myself adding up the years in my head). I started with the GMP Cricket which for those who don’t know was a constant pitch, 28 size heli(R.I.P). Then I had the GMP Cobra, a 45 size heli which over time I made into what I called the King Cobra by adding a 60 size engine...still looking for more I  put a Super Tiger 90 in it....dumb I know, but I was young. I still have this bird and you can see it in the “Stuff for Sale” section. I met the girl of my dreams at Eastern Illinois University, got married...ha d kids...and this was the “off” part of the “off and on” of helicoptering. About five years ago I got back into helis with the Century Hawk(R.I.P). During my hiatus a new thing was invented.....3D flying.  I went to a fun fly and nearly pooped my pants, they were flipping these things in ways I had never seen before...sure I looped and rolled mine in the 80’s but this was insane. Well all I can say is after a couple of years of forward flight and getting all pumped up at the fun fly I tried to loop/flip my Hawk.....lets just say I was to low, to slow and not enough brain cells....complete and total destruction.  I could not even find my reciever....so if you find one...it is probably mine. With the demise of the Hawk came the birth of the Raptor....the best thing that ever happend to me. The Raptor, as you who fly them know, is great...it is cheap...well built....and flies very well.

I have recently joined an all Helicopter Club “Northern Illinois Radio Controlled Helicopter Association” or nircha.  Some people call it Club Raptor....I highly recommend finding a club in your area. The knowledge that the members have is very helpful or in the case of you expert fliers out there, join clubs to share your knowledge with the novice and intermediate pilots.
